Nigeria’s musical sensation, Simisola ‘Simi’ Kosoko has unlocked a new milestone in her music career as she has become the very first female artiste to reach 100 million streams on music streaming platform, Boomplay.
Boomplay took to their social media platforms to share the good news and to congratulate the ‘Duduke’ hitmaker.
“Congratulations are in order for @symplysimi as she becomes the first female artist to reach 100M streams milestone on #Boomplay,” read the post.
Her fifth studio album, ‘To Be Honest (TBH)’, which was released a little over a month ago gave her the final push and led her to Boomplay’s Golden Club. Simi has now joined the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Omah Lay and Fireboy DML.
TBH features her husband and fellow musician Adekunle Gold, Deja and Fave. According to Simi, the album is extremely personal to her and she poured out her entire heart in the album.
“I’m very emotionally attached to this album. I know it’s because of the process it took. It was very, very, very emotionally tasking,” she said. ‘’In the spirit of this album, I’m letting myself be vulnerable with you,” she added.
