WILL SMITH ALLEGEDLY REFUSED TO LEAVE THE OSCARS

Details have emerged that Oscar winner Will Smith was allegedly asked to exit the premises after the altercation between him and comedian Chris Rock, but Smith refused to leave.

In a statement issued by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Will’s actions are currently under review and the board is considering all disciplinary measures available to determine which can be applied best. It added that Will went against their standards of conduct and compromised the integrity of the Academy.

The Academy also added that they are giving Will 15 days’ notice of a vote regarding his violations and sanctions. Not only that but he is also being accorded an opportunity to be heard via a written response.

“At the next board meeting on April 18, the Academy may take any disciplinary action, which may include suspension, expulsion, or other sanctions permitted by the Bylaws and Standards of Conduct,” read the statement.

An apology has also been issued to Rock and they have also applauded how he handled the situation and went on to present the Oscar Award to the winner. 

The Academy took to Twitter immediately after the incident to clarify that they do not condone any acts of violence but people were furious as they did not do anything about the situation. 

They have now come out to clarify that indeed action was taken against Will who was asked to exit the premises by David Rubin who is the president of the Academy as well as Dave Hudson, the CEO. According to TMZ the two were furious and got into a heated argument with Will’s camp backstage.
