Will Smith has officially been banned from attending the Oscars and all other Academy events following after the actor slapped fellow actor and comedian Chris Rock.
The decision was made after The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors met on Friday to discuss Will’s fate.
Will had earlier on resigned from The Academy and had made it clear that his behavior was unacceptable and that it overshadowed the other great events of the night. He also made it clear that he ready to accept any and all consequences from The Academy.

Not many people have resigned from The Academy as getting in is extremely hard and is based on recommendations from already existing members.
In fact, only four people have ever been booted; actor Bill Cosby, producer Harvey Weinstein, director Roman Polanski and cinematographer Adam Kimmel were kicked out over sexual misconduct allegations while actor Carmine Caridi was kicked out for pirating screener videos.

Since the scandalous Oscar incident Chris Rock has not addressed it as he is still processing the events that took place. He revealed that he will one day speak about it and promises that it will be funny and serious at the same time.
Will has since sought help in a luxury rehab for celebrities. The impact that Will faced after the incident had many of the movies he is featuring in put on pause.
The actor will be taking time to recover and deal with stress at the rehab clinic. According to newspaper The Sun, Will hopes to get better and return in time to save his career and his reputation.
