The ugly court brawl between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard has entered its 14th day. Amber has taken the stand yet again, a place where she got emotional and made shocking revelations.
Depp is suing Heard for a whooping $50 million for a statement she made to the Washington Post saying that she is a public figure representing domestic abuse. According to Depp, her statement caused a massive blow on his career as he lost lucrative acting roles.
The two met in 2009 and got hitched in 2015 for a year. Amber made it clear that she was in love with the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star up until he struck her for the first time after asking him about one of his tattoos.
Amber made it known in a court full of Depp’s fans that he was physically abusive and that led to the both of them mistreating each other.
“Nothing I did made him stop hitting me. Nothing. I tried for over a year, maybe two, of just not responding physically, not responding verbally, just staring at him, I tried to freeze, I tried to go to a different place. I would try then lashing out verbally. I would try to threaten that if he hit me again that I would call the police,” she said.
Heard stated that Depp was very controlling of her and did not want her to work and even asked her to stop working promising that he would take care of her instead.
On the other hand, Depp has stood his ground saying that it is not in his nature to physically abuse women. He even added that it was in fact Heard who was the physically abusive partner in their relationship.
