Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has been cleared of an allegation of sexual assault. Bissouma, 25, was arrested alongside a man in his 40s under suspicion of sexual assault in Brighton last October.
The midfielder was released under investigation before playing for Mali in the Africa Cup of Nations in January. The Mali international had to amend bail conditions to take part in the Africa Cup of Nations while investigations were still ongoing.
With his name clear, the talented 25-year-old can focus on his football ahead of what is going to be a majorly exciting campaign for Tottenham, who are set to return to the Champions League for the first time since 2020.
Bissouma has followed Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic to Hotspur Way in the current window and amassed six goals and three assists in 124 appearances for Brighton during a four-year spell.
Tottenham had been watching Bissouma since he played for Lille and he had been on their list of targets to replace Mousa Dembele since 2018.
