24-time Grammy Award winner Kanye West has pulled the plug on performing at Coachella which was set to take place from April 15-17 and has taken Travis Scott along with him.
Kanye who says what he means and means what he says has pulled out of one of America’s biggest music festivals last minute despite being the headline performer, leaving the organizers under pressure to fill his spot.
Back in February, Ye took to his Instagram to ask Billie Eilish to apologize to Travis Scott for what he felt was a dig towards Scott. Eilish who was performing in Atlanta, paused her performance to help a fan who had difficulty breathing.
“I wait for people to be okay before I keep going,” she said.
Her comment came after Scott’s Astroworld festival which saw ten people lose their lives while hundreds of others were left nursing their injuries. Travis who claimed to be unaware of the situation while he was performing did not pause or stop his show to contain the situation.
Ye made it clear that he will not share the Coachella stage with Eilish unless she apologizes to Scott first.
“TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED AND YES TRAV WILL BE WITH ME AT COACHELLA BUT NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM,” he wrote.
Billie did not apologize to Travis but instead made it clear that her intention was to help a fan in need and that she did not say anything about Travis.
Ye has not shared the reason as to why he has pulled out of the festival but according to Variety, the rapper had not prepared for the show.
