Cameras were not permitted in the graduation area for unknown reasons, while other goods forbidden from the event included alcohol, cigarettes, tinned meals, and bottled drinks.

“A detailed list of prohibited items has been inserted in the graduation invitation package that is presented to the graduands and invited guests,” stated Prof. Patrick Mangeni, chair of the ceremonies committee at Makerere University.
