Knockout fixtures for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) were confirmed on Thursday evening after Tunisia, Gambia, Ivory coast, Mali and Equatorial Guinea booked their places in the last 16.
The first group stage threw up great goals, controversial incidents and shocking results as 24 teams have been whittled down to 16 for the first knockout round.
Despite the slow start, the tournament eventually sparked into life with a flurry of great goals, and unforgettable incidents and major shocks-the exit of Ghana and title holders Algeria. Comoros moved on in its first ever appearance at the tournament.
With eight teams heading home, there will be no second chances as we enter the knockout stages.
