Hansi Flick’s Germany thrashed 10 man Liechtenstein 9-0 in their world cup qualifiers match, making history as the first Germany coach with the best start of six consecutive wins in six games.
Flick had to make drastic changes to his squad’s lineup with 5 players sidelined due to Covid -19 regulations.
Timo Werner, Leroy Sane and Thomas Mueller each scored braces past Liechtenstein who were down to 10 men after 11 minutes.
The already qualified Germans are on top of Group J with 24 points nine points ahead of Northern Macedonia, who come second placed, with two games to spare Romania settled for a barren draw 0-0 by Iceland in their group J match.
Romania are now one point behind second placed Macedonia with 14 points.
Croatia automatically qualified as they prevailed 7-1 against Malta in their group H Roundup.
Croatia are now second in their group H with 20 points from nine games, two points behind the leaders Russia, who secured their lead with a 6-0 thrashing of Cyprus.
Croatia will savour a much needed win over Russia for them to qualify for the finals.
