Declan Rice has withdrawn from the England squad implying that he will now miss the 2022 World Cup qualification matches against Albania and San Marino.
Gareth Southgate’s side however do not plan to make any further additions to the squad.
The West Ham midfielder pulled out of the squad after being unable to train due to an illness. He is the latest squad member to drop out of the squad after Southampton’s James Ward Prowse and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe earned his first senior call-up as replacement. Chelsea’s Mason Mount and United’s Luke Shaw are yet to join Southgate’s group at St. George’s Park for training, but haven’t been ruled out of the upcoming world cup qualifiers.
