Uganda has stepped up to offer solace to Afghanistan refugees as the world around them collapses right infront of our eyes.

The East African country is set to accept 2000 refugees according to Uganda’s minister for relief, disaster preparedness and refugees, Mrs. Esther Anyakun.

The US requested the Uganda’s help to settle the beleaguered people temporarily.

According to East Africa Refugee Relief, the first batch of 500 Afghans are expected to land today at the Entebbe International airport.

Uganda has played a pivotal role in settling refugees for many years. The country hosts about 1.5 million refugees from South Sudan.
