ARTETA, BARCA TRIO TEXT POSITIVE FOR COVID 19

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has tested positive for COVID 19 for the second time after testing positive in March 2020.

He will miss Arsenal’s 1st January clash with Manchester city at Emirates stadium where his assistants Albert Stuivenberg and Steve Round will take charge.

Arsenals right backs Calum Chambers, Cedric Soares, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ainsley Maitland-Niles missed their Boxing Day clash with Norwich after testing positive for COVID 19. 

Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti , Ousmane Dembele, and Gavi will miss Sunday’s clash against Real Mallorca after testing positive for COVID 19.

“Dembele, Umtiti and Gavi are positive for COVID-19 after PCR tests on the squad. The players are in good health and self-isolating at home. The club has reported the cases to the relevant authorities,” the club statement read.

The Catalan camp has been plagued by a number of COVID 19 cases after, Dani Alves, Jordi Alba, Alejandro Balde and Clement Lenglet testing positive.

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira and Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard both missed their respective matches over the Christmas period after posting positive COVID 19 tests.
