Accra has already experienced two flooding incidents in the last four days. Parts of Accra and other urban centres in the Greater Accra Region, including North Kaneshie, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, and Kasoa in the Central Region, were flooded after hours of rain.

Following this, there was a traffic snarl up on several major roads in the capital. Ghanaians took to Twitter on Saturday and Monday to share videos of flooded areas.

The Ghana Police Service, in a bid to help prevent further chaos, issued a public safety warning to the public to avoid areas such as the Graphic Road towards Kaneshie and Agbogbloshie due to the high level of the Odaw River.

Motorists and commuters are also being cautioned against using the Graphic Road towards Kaneshie and Agbogbloshie due to the rising level of the Odaw River, it stated.
