South African comedian Trevor Noah has made history by winning an Emmy award in the outstanding talk series category for his show, The Daily Show.

This victory marks him as the first African and the first black individual to achieve this accolade since the category’s inception in 2015.

Reflecting on the win, Noah expressed his joy, stating, “It’s amazing that I get to be a part of this journey. It feels like being part of a winning football team.”

This accomplishment comes after Noah’s sixth nomination in the category, securing the award in his final season hosting The Daily Show.

Noah, who surprised fans with his announcement of leaving The Daily Show in September 2022 after seven years as host, garnered attention with his exit. The search for his replacement is currently ongoing.

This is not Noah’s first Emmy; he previously earned one in 2017 for an Outstanding Short Form Variety Series. The Emmy awards represent the most prestigious honors in the US television industry, and Noah’s latest triumph adds another milestone to his remarkable career.

With a history-making win, Trevor Noah continues to break barriers and leave an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. As fans eagerly anticipate his next endeavors, Noah’s impact on comedy and television remains a testament to his talent and trailblazing spirit.
