Manchester United is set to announce Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager for the rest of the season. He is one of the most revered names in German football

The deal also includes Rangnick being given a consultancy role at the club for two years after the end of the season.

The 63 year old will have to relinquish his position at Lokomotiv Moscow for the role. United is still in talks with the Russian club over an agreement to have him released.

He, however, will not be present during United’s clash with Chelsea due to work permit reasons- which will be overseen by Michael Carrick as caretaker boss.

Ralf Rangnick has previously managed Schalke, Hannover, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
