The US Presidential elections is not so much a race for popular votes, but the Electoral College.
The Electoral College decides which President and Vice President become elected. Each of the 50 states has electors who form the college. States with higher populations have more electors than those with less. The total number of electors (1 vote per elector) that form the college are of 538. Therefore it takes at least half plus one to win the Presidency, 270.
The more states, especially those with high populations a presidential candidate wins, the more likely that candidate will be elected president.
During Joe Biden’s current reign as the president, the economy according to many Americans is not doing well even though the economy has actually continued to expand.
Some major drivers of voters concerns include –immigration, economy (inflation/ poverty), divisons (liberals & conservatives over the direction of the country), the Middle-East Carnage (Israel-Palestine war), & Russian-Ukrainian war have continued to dominate the political space.
Six months from the US Presidential elections, 6 battle ground states are very telling where Trump leads Biden in 5 and double digits in Georgia, and Nevada. This is likely where the winner shall be determined.
