What is it about these relationships that make them so appealing? According to Dr. Wendy L. Patrick, she explains that some men prefer dating older women because they feel equal. These kinds of relationships are more common than most people realize, and they are also more successful.

As a result, older women may attract younger men likely due to a different mental space to that of women in the men’s own age bracket.

Often, there is no clear reason why younger men prefer older women. However, there are some factors that may contribute to this preference.

OLDER WOMEN HAVE MORE INTELLECTUAL ABILITY

Men want a deeper connection where they can talk. Because older women are more mature and better able to hold intellectual conversations, younger men are attracted to them. According to anthropologist Helen Fisher, 87 percent of men would date a woman who is more intelligent and educated than they are.

Having lived through more life experiences, older women know what they want in life. Men like women who have meaningful and fulfilling goals and are sure of themselves, know what they want in life.

Women who have a plan in life, have more time to dedicate to a relationship, making them more attractive to men.

Women with more life experience bring knowledge to the table that younger women do not possess. This is helpful to mature men when it comes to forming relationships.

A realistic outlook on life and encouragement to grow intellectually tends to attract people. According to an article on Today.com, they interviewed young men about their feelings about older women and found that the majority of men agreed that “older women have more life experience, emotional stability, grounding, and can offer honesty and a different perspective.”

YOUNG MEN CAN ATTAIN EMOTIONAL MATURITY

The emotional maturity of older women is also evident in many ways. For example, older women are more likely to open up to their partners and share their feelings.

Moreover, older women will often be able to assist younger men in processing and expressing their emotions.

MEN WANT MATURE BEHAVIOR
