ALGERIA COVERS ALL WELLS AFTER RAYAN’S DEATH IN MOROCCO

Following the death of five year old Rayan who fell into a well in Morrocco, Algeria has launched a campaign to cover all wells nationwide.

Local officials in M’sila state’s eastern region issued a statement urging well owners to safeguard and cover their wells.

Violators will face repercussions and will be held responsible for any future incidents, according to the statement.

In December 2018, an Algerian teenager died after being trapped for nine days in a 30-meter-deep well.

‘Little Rayan’ a Moroccan child, died last week after being trapped for days in a 32-meter-deep hole in northern Morocco.

In a tragedy that drew worldwide compassion, rescuers were able to recover his remains on Saturday.
