Apple has issued an emergency software patch for its products due to a vulnerability to spyware discovered in it’s operating system.
The spyware can infect anyone’s iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Mac computer without a click.
University of Toronto’s Citizen Lab recently discovered a malicious spyware on an Apple phone of a Saudi activist.
The phone was transmitting some image files via the iMessage instant-messaging app. This kept the phone breaking down every so often.
The device was allegedly hacked by Pegasus spyware that belongs to an Israel NSO Group Technology company.
The NSO group licenses its Pegasus spyware tool to government agencies and police forces for investigative and security purposes.
However, this software in the hands of nefarious entities can be very dangerous and ripe for abuse because of it’s clandestine capabilities.
