HAVANA, CUBA- In the military-technical sphere, Russia and Cuba plan to collaborate on a series of joint projects.
The information was confirmed during a meeting between Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu and Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces Minister Alvaro Lopez Miera.
During the meeting, Shoigu praised Cuba’s commitment to discussing various military and military-technical issues, highlighting the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Furthermore, Cuba demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, according to him.
He described Cuba as a valued partner of Russia and emphasized the importance of the Russian-Cuban political dialogue.
According to Shoigu, Russia is prepared to assist Cuba, which continues to be subjected to the illegal trade and economic blockade imposed by the United States.
Cuba has been subjected to an economic, commercial, and financial blockade by the US government since 1962, which was intensified under former President Donald Trump’s administration.
As a result of these measures, Cuba’s economy has been severely affected.
Russia and Cuba’s cooperation in the military-technical sphere marks a deeper level of their relationship and demonstrates their mutual interest in supporting each other.
