Mo Farah, Britain’s four-time Olympic champion, has withdrawn from the London Marathon due to a hip injury. He was due to run the race for the first time since 2019 after making a return to the track in a failed attempt to compete at last year’s Olympics in Tokyo. As the best distance runner in Great Britain, he would have drawn a lot of attention from the locals.
Farah, who ran in the London event three times has clinched six World titles so far.

His absence is the second setback for organizers in a week, following the withdrawal of Kenya’s women’s world record holder and two-time London Marathon champion Brigid Kosgei due to a minor hamstring issue.

Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge will not run after smashing his own world record by 30 seconds at the Berlin marathon last Sunday.
