Football player impact is not solely determined by fame or other factors. Many of them, who are heroes to children and adults alike, lead by example by virtue of their privilege. One of them, always involved in any type of charity work is Antonio Rudiger. Originally from Sierra Leone, the German centre-back has always been keen to help his country as much as possible.

Rudiger has taken the decision not to spend earnings from being part of the Germany squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on himself.

According to the player, he will use whatever he will earn from the world cup to support selected children in his home country, Sierra Leone and as part of his philanthropic works has decided to help in the fight against congenital clubfoot.  His benevolence has helped many children by way of health and education.

In 2020, the defender made a whopping donation of $101,000 to support Free Quality Education in Sierra Leone. Rudiger is headed for his second World Cup with Germany as the European giants seek to reclaim the title they lost in 2018. Germany are in Group E alongside Spain, Japan and Costa Rica.
