The President of the Cameroonian Football Federation and former striker of Barcelona, Samuel Eto’o announced a friendly match at San Siro in Milan on May 23, 2022 with many football legends including his colleague Lionel Messi.
Eto’o is organizing the match in Italy to raise funds for his foundation and Slums Dunk. Eto’o is well noted for organizing charity games to help the needy. Last year, the 41-year-old donated ten ambulances to the Cameroon health service to help in the coronavirus fight.
Wesley Sneijder, Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf, Paulo Inzaghi, Andriy Shevchenko and Lilian Thuram, among the other football greats, will also attend the game. Eto’o retired from football in 2019 following spells in Spain, Italy, England, Turkey and Qatar.
Eto’o spent two seasons at Inter, scoring 53 goals in 102 appearances. He joined the Nerazzurri from Barcelona in a swap deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and was part of the team that won the treble under Jose Mourinho in 2009-10.
