Victor Osmihen will miss the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after a facial injury putting him out for three months.

Osmihen sustained fractures in the 3-2 defeat by Inter Milan on Sunday and on Tuesday he had to undergo surgery on his cheekbone and eye socket.

He sustained the injury following his collision with Inters Miler Skriniar in the 52nd minute and had to be substituted.

“Titanium plates and screws were used in the operation,” a statement from Napoli website read.

Osmihen’s sterling career boasts of nine goals in 14 appearances as Napoli’s top scorer.

He scored 4 goals in Europa league and 5 Serie A goals for Napoli. He was pivotal in securing Nigeria’s world cup playoffs by scoring 4 goals in 6 games, and is the top scorer in the Nation’s cup.
